Writing for a change
I admit. I am more a speaker than a writer. Speaking delivers instant rewards: you see immediately how the audience is reacting; you meet lots of people; and, you learn great stories. It can be intoxicating. And that’s why I write.
author and founder of DNA Ministries
As an extrovert, it’s challenging for me to strap myself into the lonely task of writing. I get fidgety and want to get up and talk to someone. When I settle down in the task, however, I thoroughly enjoy it. It sharpens my thinking and makes me more sensitive to the daily nudgings from God that I may otherwise be too busy to notice. It’s an inward discipline, with an outward expression, that sharpens my soul. Yes, I write largely for me, but with hope that others will benefit from the discipline I so desperately need.
Right now, you’ll find my public writings on my personal blog, the BoldMan Chronicles, and the DadPad blog. My personal blog covers my reflections on a variety of subjects of personal interest and, usually, a thought for the day. The BoldMan Chronicles blog features interviews, resources and personal growth exercises to live life more intentionally. The DadPad blog is a multi-author blog of dads writing about their experiences in raising children. I invite you to subscribe to any and all of these. When you do, please be sure to interact by leaving comments on what you’ve read. You’ll greatly encourage us extroverts!
Soon, I’m hoping to publish some of the materials that I deliver in the BoldPath 24 Hours to IMPACT conference and Year of Living Courageously workshops in book form. Until they are available, consider attending or sponsoring one of those events in your church. We’ll both be glad you did.
